2021-22 Season Kick Off
We’re excited to have another season of ringette league play underway in Nova Scotia’s Central Region… with lots of action in Berwick too! The CRRL Board and League Operations Committee are working hard to deliver many more weeks of competition for the 43 teams that are part of the Central Region Ringette League.
We now have schedulers and division conveners identified, team rosters being populated on the website, and very soon we’ll have game scores and standings available online too (U12 and above). This progress towards reinstating a league in Nova Scotia’s Central Region would not be possible without the help and dedication of many volunteers. We thank all of you that are involved.
As we progress in this first season we ask for and appreciate everyone’s support. CRRL is a new organization and there will be many learnings in the weeks and months ahead. Division conveners are a resource for teams that want to provide feedback or that have questions about league rules and operations. Please reach out to them as required.
We also want to be forthcoming with associations and teams about challenges the league is facing. We have a couple very dedicated and capable volunteers involved in the effort to put together the CRRL game schedule, however there are severe limitations in the availability of active referees in HRM currently, and this is largely driving the game schedule. We have been working with Ringette Nova Scotia and they have a plan in place to address this as quickly as possible. In the interim, we are asking for patience and understanding as we do our best to schedule games and assign referees from the small pool that is available today.
Challenges aside, we are thrilled to be offering more structured competition for ringette athletes in the Central Region. To all the teams hitting the ice in the next few days we hope you have a fun and safe weekend.
